ZANIOLO THE TOP SUMMER TARGET FOR TOTTENHAM

Tottenham director Fabio Paratici is turning his attention towards Nicolo Zaniolo, with the Roma winger now seen as a priority signing.

Antonio Conte is slowly turning Spurs around and they are very much in the fight for a Champions League return. Given he has only made two signngs since taking the helm, that would represent a huge achievement for Tottenham.

Thoughts are, of course, quickly turning though to the summer market. Conte has plans to strengthen his defence, midfield and attack. And it seems he’s already set his sights on his next defender, with a powerful Brazilian in mind.

Dejan Kulusevski is also expected to sign permanently this summer having impressed while on loan.

But Conte wants another option in attack and is reportedly charging Paratici with sealing the signing of Zaniolo.

The 22-year-old’s contract at Roma expires in summer 2024 and he, understandably, is seeking a hefty pay-rise. As per reports, he wants a deal worth £95,000 a week.

Roma have no intention of going that high – and according to Calciomercato, that will let in his suitors to make a summer swoop.

As such, they will look to achieve the best possible price for the player this summer.

And Tottenham are reportedly willing to not only meet his wage demands, but also pay Roma £40m for his services.

Spurs face Gareth Bale disappointment

Conte is turning to Zaniolo after seemingly suffering disappointment over Gareth Bale.

The Wales winger is reportedly on Spurs’ radar as they look to sign him for a third time. To that end, it’s claimed Bale will choose between Tottenham and hometown club Cardiff.

However, El Chiringuito claims Bale has made the shock decision to stay in Spain once his Real Madrid deal ends.

His family are very settled in the Spanish capital and prefer to stay out there.

As such, they claim the winger is looking to make a free-transfer move within LaLiga. Both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are reportedly considering moves.
