TOTTENHAM LEARN DOUBLE EVERTON DEAL FATE
Everton will immediately reject any Tottenham advances for Anthony Gordon as part of a double raid with Richarlison, according to a report.
Spurs are motoring in the summer transfer window, having already signed three players. Yves Bissouma is the standout addition so far, the midfielder arriving from Brighton.
Elsewhere, Ivan Perisic will fit nicely into Antonio Conte’s wing-back system while Fraser Forster will provide goalkeeping options. However, manager Conte is now looking to add to his attack.
Everton forward Richarlison has emerged as a firm Tottenham target this summer. But reports on Monday claimed that Spurs are looking to throw winger Gordon into a potential double deal.
According to the latest from the Liverpool Echo, Everton have no interest in letting Gordon go.
The 21-year-old winger is heading into only his second full season of Premier League football with the club. While he impressed amid the Toffees’ relegation scrap, he is now looking to drive his boyhood club up the table.
The newspaper adds that England Under-21 international Gordon feels ‘settled’ on Merseyside. Having made his breakthrough in the 2020/21 season, the winger played 35 league games for Everton last season.
While Everton and Gordon are on the same terms, the same cannot be said for Richarlison.
Increasing doubt has emerged over his future, with Everton demanding a sizeable sum from Tottenham and other interested parties.
Indeed, the Liverpool Echo reports that Everton want a ‘considerable profit’ on the Brazilian They paid an initial £35million for him, potentially rising to £50million, in 2018.
Richarlison’s inspired form helped drag Everton out of trouble at the back end of last season. Still, he could now look for a new challenge, with two years left on his contract.
ERISKEN CONSIDERING LEICESTER OFFER
Christian Eriksen is considering a contract offer from Leicester as the free agent decides his next move, says a report.
The 30-year-old’s short-term deal at Brentford expires in the summer and he could yet sign new terms at the London club.
However, Eriksen is not short of interest from elsewhere in the Premier League. Manchester United have had strong links with a move and have reportedly been in contact with an offer of their own.
According to The Times, though, Leicester also fancy their chances of signing the Denmark international.
In fact, the newspaper claims that Eriksen has offers from the Foxes, Brentford, Everton and Newcastle.
The midfielder has revived his career at the Brentford Community Stadium after it looked in serious doubt.
He lost his Inter contract after suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020. However, after getting the all-clear to play again, Eriksen rediscovered his best form back in the Premier League.
His transfer is an exciting proposition for the Premier League clubs involved due to the lack of a transfer fee and his wealth of top-flight experience with Tottenham before Brentford.
TRANSFER GOSSIP – RAMSEY SET FOR FREE AGENCY
Juventus have reportedly agreed to pay €4million (£3.4million) to terminate former Rangers loanee Aaron Ramsey’s contract 12 months before expiration.
The Serie A club are preparing to welcome Paul Pogba back to Turin from Man Utd. Juve are also closing in on the signing of Angel di Maria from Paris Saint-Germain.
While neither player has commanded a transfer fee as they are free agents, their wages will prove a sizeable investment for Juve.
As such, ilBiancoNero reports that letting Ramsey leave his contract early is a viable solution for the Italian giants.
They would have to pay £3.4million to cut short the Wales international’s deal early. That is much less than the €14million (£12million) his contract currently owes him for the final year of his deal.
As for where he could go next, Turkish side Fatih Karagumruk – who have recently appointed ex-Juve boss Andrea Pirlo – emerged as an option.
But the club’s president has admitted that his side “gave up” trying to get an agreement with Ramsey.
Ramsey scored two goals in five Scottish Premiership games for Rangers last season. He also featured in their Europa League final loss to Eintracht Frankfurt.
