Another exit door closes for Timo Werner as Juve move in on another Premier League name

Juventus are closing in on the signing of Roberto Firmino, according to a story in the Metro today.

That has a major knock on effect at Chelsea, as it effectively ends their interest in Timo Werner, who plays in the same position.

As well as chasing defensive reinforcements, Chelsea are keen to strengthen their team in forward areas. That will require selling some of their existing options however, something which is proving very difficult.

Werner would be a prime sale if we could find a buyer, and getting his wages off the books would allow us a lot more room to manoeuvre.

But Firmino’s impending move to Turin will close the exit door for Werner there, leaving no real viable buyers still seemingly in the market.

Werner doesn’t look happy at Chelsea, and the club don’t look happy with him – but there’s not a huge amount of other things we can do right now.
