Arsenal have confirmed that new signing Gio Queiroz will join Everton on loan for the duration of the 2022/23 WSL campaign.
The winger joined the Gunners from Barcelona on transfer deadline day, becoming Arsenal's third new arrival of the summer following the signings of Lina Hurtig and Kaylan Marckese.
The 19-year-old is Everton's 10th new addition of the transfer window - half of which have been loans - as Brian Sorensen sets about assembling his new side.
Jess Park, Katja Snoeijs, Emily Ramsey, Sara Holmgaard, Karen Holmgaard, Katrine Veje, Clare Wheeler, Aggie Beever-Jones and Elise Stenevik have all signed for the Toffees this summer ahead of Sorensen's debut season in charge.
"Gio is an exciting prospect and we believe she has great potential," said Arsenal boss Jonas Eidevall. "We will closely monitor her development this season and look forward to watching her progress.”
Gio joined Barcelona from Madrid CFF in 2020, before spending the 2021/22 season on loan at Levante, scoring 11 goals in 31 appearances.
The teenager has been capped 12 times by Brazil at international level, and was part of the Brazil squad that reached the quarter finals at the Tokyo Olympics and won the 2022 Copa America.
“We have been monitoring Gio for some time and are delighted to have brought her to Arsenal,” said Arsenal's head of women’s football, Clare Wheatley. “She will now spend time on loan in order to continue her progression and adapt to English football. We are confident that her time on loan will be provide her with valuable experience at this stage in her development."
