Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has hailed Dusan Vlahovic as 'one of the best' young players in the world alongside Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.
Despite Juve's disappointing start to the season - which sees them sit mid-table in Serie A - Vlahovic has been in fantastic form, scoring four goals in his five league appearances.
Speaking to the press ahead of La Vecchia's Signora's crucial Champions League clash with Benfica, Allegri was keen to praise the 22-year-old striker for his recent performances despite his team's overall woes.
"Dusan Vlahovic is doing well, he is improving and I'm very happy with his performances," Allegri said.
"Of all the younger international level players, together with Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe he is one of the best."
The two forwards Allegri compared Vlahovic to have gotten off to similarly impressive starts to their 2022/23 campaigns, with Haaland bagging 10 goals in six Premier League games and Mbappe scoring seven in six Ligue 1 games.
As well as praising Vlahovic, Allegri provided a raft of updates on a number of injured players, most notably starting that Angel Di Maria is back in contention following his recent ailment:
"We have Angel Di Maria back, but I still don't know if I will field him from the start. Wojciech Szczesny may be available, I'll find out after the press conference," he said. "Alex Sandro suffered a problem with his adductor when winning Sunday’s penalty, we'll see if we can recover him for Monza. Manuel Locatelli and Adrien Rabiot are both out."
