Following the summer signings of Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona loaned out young winger Ez Abde to CA Osasuna so that he can gain experience by playing regularly.
The move has worked out well for all parties as the young winger has performed admirably for the Pamplona-based outfit. In 21 appearances, he has scored three goals and two assists.
While the numbers might not be mind-blowing, Abde has impressed onlookers with his pace and ability to get past defenders.
But even though he continues to do well at Osasuna, his place in the Barcelona squad next season is not guaranteed.
The Blaugrana are looking to reinforce their attack further in the summer with Vitor Roque on the agenda while Marcus Thuram is also linked. It could affect Abde’s progression.
At the same time, Barcelona’s need to generate revenue could also have an effect on his future, with a sale not ruled out.
Amidst this, interest in Abde seems to be growing from within Spain and across Europe.
Indeed, according to SPORT, Atletico Madrid are among the clubs interested in signing the Moroccan international. Premier League sides Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves are also following the 21-year-old winger.
Atletico Madrid are likely to lose Yannick Carrasco in the summer, with the Belgian interestingly a target for Barcelona. And they might consider replacing him with Abde.
Meanwhile, the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham are also monitoring the Barcelona loanee while Wolves are also an option for the winger if he opts to leave in the summer.
The winger is valued in excess of €15 million and it remains to be seen what the future holds for Abde and whether he finds a place for himself in Xavi’s plans next term.
