Liverpool are to sign four players in a £200m spree with nine set to leave, Chelsea will make an astronimical offer to convince a Barcelona star to sign, while Saturday’s Transfer Gossip has big news on Wilfried Zaha’s next club.
KLOPP KNOWS FOUR TOP TARGETS FOR LIVERPOOL
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is ready to spend in excess of £200m this summer – and reportedly has four Premier League based players at the top of his list of targets.
The Merseysiders are in desperate need of new bodies this summer. A disappointing campaign leaves them without silverware and also in danger of missing out on European football next season.
And for a club that fell just a few games short of the quadruple last season, the drop-off has been stark.
It all means Klopp is having to rebuild his squad at Anfield. A number of players will move on, many as free agents, while fees for others no longer seen as up to the task will also be shifted on.
But speculation over whom Liverpool plan to sign next is garnering much interest.
Due to the extent of the rebuild required, Liverpool have seemingly pulled out of the race for Jude Bellingham. The Dortmund teenager’s transfer package is seen as being just too high, given the number of bodies the Reds need in.
Klopp has addressed the whys and wherefores around that decision on Bellingham with an honest admission.
However, who they go for next is certainly causing plenty of intrigue.
And it seems Klopp will not be dwelling on the Bellingham miss for long with four top targets in mind.
Per widespread reports, their new No 1 midfield target is Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister. The Argentine is enjoying a fine season with 10 goals and two assists to his name for the Seagulls.
He has reportedly made clear his wish to leave – and any such deal will likely cost around the £70m mark.
Chelsea trio also on Liverpool transfer radar
And it seems the Reds are also ready to take advantage of the impending fire sale expected at Chelsea.
The Blues have spent in excess of £500m on new players since the Todd Boehly led takeover. Now the focus at Stamford Bridge will be on player sales with the American seemingly approving the departure of several stars.
And according to reports, Liverpool are ready to pounce for three of those in a £130m outlay.
First up, the Daily Mirror claims they are set to pounce on for both Mason Mount and Conor Gallager.
The England duo appear to have fallen out of favour this season and will be sold this summer. And despite having just a year left on his deal, Chelsea are demanding around £70m for Mount.
The 24-year-old though is seemingly accepting his Chelsea days are over and is reportedly now in favour of the move to Merseyside. And he will likely be joined by teammate Gallagher, who is rated in the £30m bracket.
Joining them at Anfield will be another £30m star in Levi Colwill. The 20-year-old is impressing during a loan stint at Brighton but will return to Stamford Bridge this summer. And reports claim the Blues will not stand in Klopp’s way if a £30m bid is forthcoming.
Amounting to £130m, it would be quite the story were all three Chelsea players to move to Liverpool this summer.
Nine stars set to leave Liverpool
Colwill is seen as a potential replacement for the fading Joel Matip, who is one of several stars likely to move on this summer.
The former Schalke man will be sold to the highest bidder with a year left of his deal.
Beyond that, the Reds will also bid farewell to a number of out of contract stars. To that end, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino and Adrian will also depart. Loanee Arthur Melo will also be sent back to Juventus having none done anything to convince Klopp he is worthy of a permanent stay.
That takes the Liverpool departure list up to six – but three more stars will also likely be shifted on too.
To that end, Klopp will also bid farewell to unwanted defenders Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams.
And finally, a sale will likely be made from the midfield. Indeed, Klopp would consider offers for either Fabinho or Thiago were a bid to come in. However, failure to sell either could well spend the end for veteran James Milner, who is also out of contract this summer.
Chelsea have a blank cheque for Gavi
Chelsea are so determined to win the transfer face for Gavi that they are ready to pay whatever it takes to sign the Barcelona star.
The teenager’s future at the Nou Camp is in some doubt amid Barca’s perilous financial situation. That has seen Gavi’s deal downgraded and, in the eyes of the Spanish authorities, he is now considered a youth player once again.
And with his new arrangement meaning he becomes a free agent on July 1, Chelsea are seemingly looking to pounce.
Indeed, reports this week suggested talks over a potential move to south-west London have already been held.
And while Barcelona are doing their best to dampen those fears, AS believes the threat of Chelsea is genuine.
To that end, they claim Todd Boehly is preparing to write a ‘blank cheque’ to convince the 18-year-old to sign.
That could see him offered a hefty signing-on fee. But the biggest lure from Chelsea will seemingly be the mind-boggling wages on offer. And per AS, that could see Boehly offer to make the teenager one of the Premier League’s highest-paid players.
And with an offer of around £300,000 a week way beyond what Barcelona can afford, there are growing fears in Spain that Gavi will depart.
The midfielder is rated as one of Spain’s brightest talents in years. He has already amassed 87 appearances for Barcelona and also has 19 caps for his country.
ZAHA HEADING FOR EURO GIANTS AS PALACE STAR SNUBS RONALDO LINK-UP
Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha is considering a move to one of two European giants after snubbing a lucrative pay day in Saudi Arabia.
The Eagles star is out of contract this summer and will be one of the more notable free agents on the move.
Palace have offered Zaha a deal in the region of £200,000 a week – some raise on his current £130,000 a week package.
But he has left that on the table as he assesses a number of offers coming his way.
One of those has seemingly arrived from long-term suitors Arsenal.
However, Zaha has seemingly let it be known that he fancies a move abroad for his next move.
Per the Evening Standard, a hugely-lucrative offer has come his way from Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr.
Zaha, though, is ready to turn that down for now and wants to challenge himself in the Champions League.
As such, the paper claims the Crystal Palace favourite is weighing up approaches from both AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund.
And they suggest that one of the pair will likely emerge as victors in the pursuit.
Furthermore, they also claim that, as yet, Zaha is yet to receive an approach from long-term suitors Tottenham, Chelsea or Arsenal.
