Big-money Man Utd signing could incredibly be sent back to club he came from with sporting director in ‘constant’ agent contact

Antony, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Manchester United, September 2022

An expensive Manchester United attacker could end up going back to the last club he played for amid claims ‘constant’ contact is being made over his situation.

Erik ten Hag can benefit from using one of the most valuable attacks in Europe, which includes big-name players such as Marcus Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho and Anthony Martial. Generally it is Rashford, Antony and Fernandes who are certain starters, with the other players – a group which also includes Wout Weghorst – having to fight for game time.

Man Utd’s forward line could get even better this summer as Ten Hag wants to bring in a world-class striker to score 20 goals or more per season.

Harry Kane is high up in the Dutchman’s thinking, although it will be very hard to agree a deal with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy. With Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain pushing hard to snare Victor Osimhen, Man Utd might turn their attention to Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani.

As per a recent update from Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Man Utd are ‘pushing the most’ to sign the France international.

While Kolo Muani could end up arriving at Old Trafford, Sancho might depart before next season begins.

The 23-year-old shone at Borussia Dortmund before Man Utd came calling and spent £73m on him in summer 2021. However, he struggled to live up to expectations during his first season back in England and only netted five goals in 38 appearances.

Sancho was hoping to reignite his career following the arrival of Ten Hag, and he did show some promising signs early on. But, when all of Ten Hag’s attackers are fit, Sancho struggles to make it into the starting eleven as the manager prefers to select Rashford and Antony out wide.

Jadon Sancho tipped for shock Man Utd exit

Surprisingly, German outlet Bild have now claimed that the England star may head back to Germany be re-joining Dortmund.

A return to the Westfalenstadion ‘cannot be ruled out’ due to Sancho’s underwhelming spell at Man Utd and his great bond with Dortmund.

To make the rumour even more interesting, Bild claim Dortmund’s sporting director Sebastian Kehl is in ‘constant’ contact with Sancho’s agency.

While it is unclear what exactly has been discussed between the two parties, it is likely they will have talked about the player’s problems in the Premier League. And this could have resulted in a conversation about Dortmund launching a move to reunite with him.

Sancho will have fond memories of his time at Dortmund. He was in great form there, registering 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 games. Sancho also helped BVB win a German cup and German super cup, as well as forming a deadly partnership with Erling Haaland.

However, it would be a big shock if the London-born star left Man Utd so soon. He will have confidence in his own abilities and will believe that he can turn his fortunes around at the club.

Plus, if Sancho wants to be a starter for England at the next European Championship, then he ideally needs to be playing regularly in the Prem rather than in mainland Europe. As much as Gareth Southgate claims that is not a factor in his decision-making, the recent England squads have shown that it almost certainly is.
