Manchester United are pushing to sign a Barcelona duo as the first part of a massive €500m summer spree, Leeds star Willy Gnonto has held talks over a move to two surprise suitors, while Monday’s Euro Paper Talk claims Nottingham Forest are planning a monsterous offer for a top Serie A attacker.

TEN HAG DREAMING OF DOUBLE BARCELONA RAID FOR MAN UTD

Erik ten Hag is pushing Manchester United towards a spectacular double raid on Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.

The Red Devils are in the midst of a takeover saga which will go a long way to shaping their summer spending. And with the feeling growing that the club will soon come under new Qatari ownership, a mega spree is seemingly now in the works.

And per Mundo Deportivo, United are ready to furnish Ten Hag with a mammoth €500m (£434m) kitty to transform the club’s fortunes.

To kick-off that spree, they report Ten Hag is planning to raid Barcelona for two of his transfer ‘obsessions’.

And despite talks opening up over a new deal to keep Frenkie de Jong at Barcelona, United are readying a fresh approach for his services.

United chased the Dutchman long and hard last summer only to ultimately meet transfer frustration.

And the player has also come clean on that chase, as well as his preference to stay at Barcelona for the long haul.

“The club was in a difficult situation. They could have sold me very expensive, they wanted to and there were talks with Manchester United, but I didn’t want to leave and I stayed,” he said.

“I think life here is fantastic. If I and the club continue to be fine, I would prefer to stay here as long as possible.”

Now, however, it seems United are ready to pay whatever it takes to prise De Jong from Barcelona. And they could go as high as €100m (£86.9m) to get a deal done.

Man Utd targeting Araujo alongside De Jong in double Barcelona coup

He won’t be the only player to move to Old Trafford either, according to the report.

And Manchester United are also reportedly on the trail of Uruguay defender Ronald Araujo.

The 26-year-old null under contract until summer 2026 and is also in no hurry to leave.

However, Barcelona’s financial state remains delicately poised, following claims they need to raise €200m by June 30. As such, a massive double offer from United for the pair could significantly ease their worries.

Barcelona are also making Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati and Franck Kessie available for transfers this summer.

As for United, they are also planning to sign a striker and a right-back, with all four deals likely to take up a large portion of their reported new summer budget.
