Even though Ferran Torres has no desire to leave Barcelona in the summer transfer window, the club are looking for ways to facilitate an exit for the Spanish forward, reports SPORT.
The 23-year-old Torres has had a subpar first full season at Barcelona and given the club’s needs to reduce their salary mass, his name has been doing the rounds as a potential departee in the summer.
Barça spent €55 million on his signing and the forward still has four years on his contract. Given that a large amount of his transfer is yet to be amortised, selling him outright might not prove to be beneficial for the club unless it is for a massive offer.
Hence, it is reported that Barcelona would be open to loaning Torres out next season with a purchase option, in a bid to lower their wage bill, and are actively working towards finding a solution.
There have already been links with Premier League clubs such as Aston Villa and Arsenal, while closer to home, Atletico Madrid are also understood to be interested.
Now, SPORT has thrown two more names into the mix, claiming that Serie A bigwigs Juventus and Inter Milan would be interested in signing Torres on loan. The report even adds that the two Italian heavyweights have already asked about the 23-year-old’s situation at Barcelona.
Both Juventus and Inter Milan are willing to take the former Valencia ace on loan and pay his salary, but do not wish to sign him permanently this summer.
For now, the Blaugrana have not communicated anything to the Spaniard with regard to his future, but things will be set in motion once the La Liga title is won.
Torres, for his part, is not contemplating an exit and is determined to stay at Barcelona and win a place in Xavi’s side. However, the manager plans to speak to him and explain the situation that the club find themselves in.
With Barcelona open to sending Torres out on loan, the report states that there should not be any shortage of suitors. However, the player will have the final word and it remains to be seen whether the 23-year-old stays or leaves in the summer.
