Official: Barcelona to face Real Madrid, Arsenal, Juventus in USA for pre-season

Barcelona’s pre-season tour of the United States this summer will consist of four high-profile clashes against the likes of Juventus, Arsenal, Real Madrid, and AC Milan, the team has confirmed.

The team from Catalonia will start off against Juventus on July 22 at the Levis Stadium in Santa Clara, San Francisco. The venue holds a capacity of 68,000 spectators and Barcelona have already played two games in the stadium in the past; against Manchester United in 2015 and against Milan in 2018.

After that, the Blaugrana will take on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side on July 26 at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Los Angeles. The 70,000-seater stadium was inaugurated in 2020 and currently acts as a home venue for Los Angeles Charges and Los Angeles Rams of the NFL.

On July 29, the first El Clasico of the new season will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas before the team ends its tour on August 1 with a game against Milan.

All of Barça’s pre-season matches are going to be a part of the Soccer Champions Tour, a friendly tournament promoted by Sixth Street in collaboration with Legends and AEG. It must be noted that Manchester United are going to be a part of this event too. The Premier League side, however, will only take on Real Madrid.

As far as Barcelona are concerned, their association with Sixth Street dates back to last year when the team sold 25% of the TV rights to the firm for the next 25 years. This was, in fact, the first lever that the Bluagrana activated to redirect the financial situation.

Meanwhile, it is going to be Barcelona’s 14th visit to the United States in the club’s history, having first traveled to the North American side in 1937. Over the last few years, the country has been a regular destination for the team from Catalonia, having played their friendlies in 2011, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022.
