Barcelona open to bids for €35 million-rated attacker, player wants to stay

Barcelona have been quite occupied with the future of Ansu Fati lately. The Spanish international is facing an uncertain future at Camp Nou following a poor season that saw him fall behind in the pecking order.

Barça want to offload Fati this summer as they look for a fresh injection of money. His sale could also help the club reduce the salary mass in the squad, which could be useful in bringing in new players in the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano (h/t The Residency), Barcelona are open to offers for Ansu Fati right now. They are inviting potential suitors to make a proposal for the young attacker, who has fallen out of favour in the first team.

Barcelona are working closely with Fati’s agent Jorge Mendes. The Portuguese super-agent is reportedly trying his best to convince his client to leave Camp Nou this summer, in favour of a new project elsewhere.

Romano, though, suggests Fati does not want to leave Camp Nou. He wants to stay at the club and fight for his place in the first team next season.

Barcelona are likely to make an effort to convince the player as well. Xavi, in particular, could play a vital role in this saga, knowing the Barcelona coach can coerce him to leave if he confirms the attacker’s lack of prospects in the senior team next season.

Meanwhile, Fati is not the only Barcelona player linked with a move away from Camp Nou this summer. The Blaugrana are also open to offloading some of the other unwanted stars in the team, including Ferran Torres and Franck Kessie.

The club may also get rid of some of the returning players such as Clement Lenglet. But they would ideally favour a sale of Fati, as he can bring in a considerable sum to the club’s coffers.
