Barcelona could earn around €4 million from sale of Real Betis left-back

Having joined Real Betis from Barcelona two years ago, Juan Miranda has slowly developed, and after the departure of Alex Moreno, has established himself as the starting left-back for Los Verdiblancos.

Miranda’s contract with Betis is set to expire in 2024, but the Andalusians are looking to secure a contract extension until 2027.

However, after Miranda’s impressive performances at this year’s U21 European Championship, SPORT report that he has turned quite a few heads who might be after his services.

Five top European clubs including Porto, Benfica, AC Milan, Juventus, and Olympique Marseille are reportedly eyeing the former La Masia left-back.

With Betis having already sold their starting left-back, Álex Moreno, to Aston Villa for €13.5 million, they’d be willing to accept an offer of around €10 million for Miranda, considering he only has one year left on his contract.

Miranda is reportedly happy at Betis and has not expressly conveyed a desire to move, but the Spanish outlet claim that he would be receptive to the right offer.

Considering that the clubs vying for him at the moment are mostly Champions League regulars, there may be a solid chance he decides to make the move this summer.

That means Barcelona could cash in on €4 million if the deal goes through, as they had reserved the right to keep 40% of income from any future sale when they sold Miranda in 2021.

Real Betis, not unlike Barcelona, are also in a tough financial spot, and they will need to balance their books to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations. They are looking to make sales and try and reinforce in other positions as well.

Having been linked to Alex Collado, Miranda’s potential sale could also bring them one step closer to bringing in Collado. The four million euros would hand another minor boost to Barcelona’s finances as well.
