Barcelona star a priority target for Juventus, will push for a move in a few days – Romano

Transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano has affirmed that Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie remains the utmost priority of Serie A side Juventus.

The journalist adds that Juventus’ intention at this very moment is to insist on the player in the next few days and ‘try to check if he would be open to the move’.

As for the player, he has always maintained that he wants to continue at Barça and if not that, try the Premier League experience. But regardless, the team from Turin will try to push for a move in the next few days.

Interestingly enough, in order to accommodate Kessie at Juventus, the Old Lady must make space for the Ivorian and a few steps have already been taken in that regard.

To begin with, it is said that they are open to selling star midfielder Paul Pogba for a mere €10 million mostly due to his fitness issues. Earlier reports claimed that Saudi side Al-Ahli expressed interest, but even they are having second thoughts over his fitness.

Furthermore, the Serie A side is also in negotiations with West Ham United over the transfer of Denis Zakaria. The 26-year-old Swiss midfielder spent the previous season on loan at Chelsea and although his tenure was rather troubled, the Hammers are interested in his acquisition.

If these two transfers materialize, Juventus will be in need of a midfielder and this is when Kessie comes in. Thanks to his experience of playing in Serie A, he will come in handy, but the Turin-based team will have a lot of convincing to do as the player is said to be against the idea of moving back to Italy.

Meanwhile, if Kessie’s transfer is sealed, Barcelona can go hard after Bernardo Silva eventually.
