Barcelona youngster’s chances of staying could increase as Dembele nears exit

Barcelona are currently in a precarious situation, as they brace themselves for the potential exit of Ousmane Dembele. The star attacker has reportedly agreed to join PSG on a five-year deal and his departure could be imminent.

In light of Dembele’s potential departure, the option to keep hold of Abde Ezzalzouli is increasing with each passing minute. This has been reported by Toni Juanmarti, who suggests the forward could potentially become Barcelona’s replacement for Dembele.

Abde’s stellar season at Osasuna

Ez Abde is coming on the back of an excellent loan spell at Osasuna. He was involved in six goals last season, helping the Pamplona outfit reach the final of Copa Del Rey.

Although Osasuna ended up losing to Real Madrid in the final, the winger has earned rave reviews for his performances.

Even coach Xavi has expressed his desire to keep hold of the player ahead of the new season.

Abde also recently starred for Morocco’s U23 team in the Africa Cup of Nations, notably ending the tournament as the MVP and Golden Boot winner.

Stay in Barcelona not entirely guaranteed

Despite the imminent exit of Dembele, Juanmarti claims Abde’s stay at Camp Nou is not fully guaranteed.

Barcelona are still open to the idea of offloading the Moroccan international if they receive a reasonable offer.

According to Javi Miguel, a proposal in the region of €30 million could convince the Catalans, as the club are still experiencing financial turmoil.

Abde himself is also sceptical about continuing at Camp Nou. The youngster wants to enjoy regular minutes at the club and would only consider staying if he sees real confidence in him from the club’s end.

Abde has been courted by various European clubs this summer, but recent reports suggest he has agreed verbal terms with La Liga outfit Real Betis.

Therefore, it will be interesting to see how things transpire in the coming weeks.
