Manchester City declare €80 million-rated Barcelona target ‘non-transferable’ – report

Barcelona have had their sights on Manchester City superstar Bernardo Silva for years now. Having failed in their attempts to sign him in the past, the La Liga champions are ready to go after him once again this summer.

Indeed, manager Xavi Hernandez ‘loves’ the 28-year-old Manchester City and Portugal attacking midfielder and sees him as a priority target to add more quality and creativity in the middle of the park ahead of the new season.

However, according to reports in Portugal, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo, Manchester City are not willing to entertain any offers for Silva and see the midfielder as ‘non-transferable’.

It had previously been stated that the Premier League and the European champions would be open to his departure if the player himself pushes for an exit.

However, it appears that the Cityzens have now decided that they will not hear any offers for the former AS Monaco superstar, with manager Pep Guardiola intent on keeping hold of his star playmaker at all costs.

Despite that, though, Barcelona are unwilling to throw in the towel just yet and will make an effort to try and sign Silva before the transfer window closes. What could work in their favour is that Silva is said to dream of playing for the Blaugrana.

But the financial situation at the club is not in the pinkest health that they can go out and sign Silva, who is valued at around €80 million by the Cityzens.

Beyond that, Barcelona will also have to deal with interest from the likes of PSG and Saudi Arabia. The latter are even prepared to offer him a massive contract worth around €87 million per year, which would be ten times what he currently earns at the Etihad.
