Speaking at a public appearance, CA Osasuna president Luis Sabalza has claimed that he would like to re-sign Barcelona winger Ez Abde this summer.
However, he mentioned that the only way that the La Liga club could have a chance of taking Abde back would be if Barça loaned him out.
Abde impressed on loan at Osasuna
Abde spent the last season on loan at Osasuna and made a solid impression.
The Moroccan international ended the campaign with a return of six goals and two assists, playing a key role in the Pamplona-based outfit’s seventh-place finish in La Liga and the runners-up berth in Copa del Rey.
Heading into the new season, there had been talk of Osasuna wanting to re-sign Abde, albeit on loan, but things went quiet on that front a while ago.
However, club president Sabalza has now opened up on the matter again, stating that he would like Abde back, but can only afford to sign him on loan.
“I would like Abde to come back,” said the Osasuna president as quoted by Noticias de Navarra
“If they transfer him it will be difficult, but if they loan him out, we would have a possibility,” he added.
Abde’s future uncertain
After impressing in pre-season and the first two matches of the campaign, it appeared that Abde’s future at Barcelona was fully secure.
However, that does not appear to be the case as there continue to be doubts over his continuity from both the player and the club’s side.
Amidst this, German giants Bayer Leverkusen are prepared to offer €20 million to sign Abde, an offer that could tempt Barcelona.
So, an exit before the window closes cannot be ruled out. However, a return to Osasuna does not appear to be on the cards for the Moroccan winger.
