Early life and youth career
Pochettino was born in Murphy, Argentina, on March 2, 1972. He started playing football at a young age and joined the youth academy of Newell's Old Boys at the age of 10. He progressed through the ranks of the academy and made his senior debut for the club in 1994.
Senior career
Pochettino spent most of his senior career in Spain, playing for Espanyol, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bordeaux. He also played for Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur.
Managerial career
Pochettino began his managerial career in 2004, when he was appointed manager of Espanyol B. He led Espanyol B to promotion to Segunda División B in 2006.
In 2008, Pochettino was appointed manager of Espanyol. He led Espanyol to the UEFA Cup final in 2007 and to the Copa del Rey final in 2010.
In 2013, Pochettino was appointed manager of Southampton. He led Southampton to the Europa League quarterfinals in 2016.
