Tottenham target not interested in January move to Barcelona

Even the January transfer window is still a couple of months away, Barcelona are already lining out their strategies for the winter as they look to further strengthen their squad.

Despite the salary limit being a problem, it appears that the club are looking into possible avenues to bolster their roster so as to successfully defend their La Liga title and add more silverware.

Vitor Roque’s incorporation is a priority, but along with that, it appears that Xavi Hernandez & co. are on the lookout for another midfielder.

And, the name of Tottenham Hotspur ace Giovani Lo Celso is once again doing the rounds as a target.

Lo Celso not looking to move

Lo Celso was a target for Barcelona during the summer as well, with the Argentine being eyed as a possible option to add more creativity to the midfield by Xavi.

But, it led to nothing, and the 27-year-old ended up staying in London. However, has hardly played for Spurs this season, although his recent absence is due to an injury.

Barça have not lost their interest in Lo Celso entirely, but as things stand, the Copa America winner is not looking to leave Tottenham in January, as per Mundo Deportivo.

Indeed, the report claims that the Argentine playmaker wishes to turn things around and succeed at the north London club.

And, as such he is not leaning towards a departure in the upcoming transfer window despite his lack of minutes under Ange Postecoglou.

Lo Celso valued at €15 million

Recent reports had suggested that Tottenham would be open to offloading Lo Celso in January, but would seek a transfer fee of €15 million.

However, as things stand, it appears that Lo Celso is not looking to leave the club while the report from MD also states that manager Postecoglou wishes to keep hold of him as well.

As such, an exit and a possible transfer to Barcelona looks off the table.
