Burnley have agreed a deal with St Mirren for Scottish sensation Murray Campbell, TEAMtalk understands.
Campbell has been attracting the interest of a number of English Premier League clubs, including Tottenham, Wolves and Crystal Palace. But it is the Clarets, who have moved to lure the centre-back to England.
The Scotland Under-17 international has agreed a two-year deal at Turf Moor and the move is set to be confirmed once Campbell receives international clearance.
Campbell has impressed for St Mirren’s youth sides and for Scotland’s U16s and U17s in the last 12 months and is regarded as one of the best young prospects in Scotland.
Burnley see Campbell as a potential star in the making and hope he can develop into a future first-team player at the club
The 17-year-old is likely to link up with Burnley’s U18s and U21s initially before hoping to breakthrough into the first-team plans of Clarets first-team manager Vincent Kompany
