Barcelona sporting director Deco has assured that new summer signing Joao Felix is not only happy but is also enjoying his new life at the club.

Felix joined Barcelona towards the end of the summer transfer window, arriving from Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan.

The Portuguese international has made an instant impact on his new team, having scored three goals and registered an assist in only his first two starts.

Deco’s take on Felix’s tenure

Deco, the newly appointed director of Barcelona, shared his thoughts with the Movistar Champions League reporters (h/t Mundo Deportivo) following Barcelona’s recent victory over Royal Antwerp. 

The influential Barça executive, who played a pivotal role in sealing the transfers of Felix and Joao Cancelo, expressed his satisfaction with how the former is settling into his new team.

“Joao Felix is ​​happy and enjoying being here. He already played a great game against Betis in the fact that He also scored, but the team in general must be praised. Everyone played a great game,” said the sporting director.

“We played a great game. We scored different goals, which is always good. We all played well; Raphinha, Lewandowksi, those who came on from the bench.

“We have to continue working as a team, we have to keep our feet on the ground,” he added.

Update on Xavi’s renewal and Arthur Vermeeren

Xavi’s renewal has been the talk of the town of late and Deco, in a way, mentioned that it is almost done. 

“Xavi won the renewal. He opted for a difficult project at a very difficult time for the club. He had the courage and, above all, he really wanted to help write a new story.”
