Erling Haaland says he has learned to embrace Pep Guardiola's demanding style of management

Pep Guardiola wanted more from Erling Haaland against Burnley last month

Erling Haaland has said that Pep Guardiola can be "brutal" in his demands, but that he has a "very good relationship" with the Manchester City manager.

Haaland scored 56 goals for City last season, but was publicly berated by Guardiola at half-time of the opening day win over Burnley. The Norwegian said that he appreciated Guardiola's honesty and commitment, and that their relationship was "very good".

Gary Neville and Alan Shearer criticized Guardiola for the incident, saying that he should have waited to speak to Haaland in private. However, Haaland said that he understood Guardiola's passion and that he was "totally committed" to helping him improve.

The incident has highlighted the different styles of management that Guardiola and Ferguson used. Ferguson was known for his fiery temper and his willingness to publicly criticize players, while Guardiola is more subtle and prefers to keep his conversations private.

It remains to be seen whether Guardiola's approach will help Haaland reach his full potential. However, the Norwegian has said that he is "happy" at City and that he is "excited" to work with Guardiola.
