Barcelona not considering the sale of €70 million-rated Tottenham target

Raphinha has emerged as a sought-after prospect in the market lately, with Tottenham Hotspur, in particular, keen on acquiring his services.

The Lilywhites are in the market for attacking reinforcements and it appears the Barcelona forward has emerged as the ideal target.

Barcelona are reportedly looking for a fee of around €70 million for Raphinha – a figure that could turn out to be problematic for Spurs.

However, a recent report from AS suggests that Barcelona have no plans to sell Raphinha at the moment.

Although Raphinha has failed to live up to the expectations since joining from Leeds United, he still remains an integral part of the attacking setup.

That is largely because Barça had to offload many attacking stars in the summer, including Ousmane Dembele, Ez Abde and Ansu Fati, among others.

Raphinha, as a result, has emerged as one of the key attacking options for coach Xavi, even though the Brazilian has struggled with injuries this season.

Economic needs could change outlook

The report, though, adds that Barcelona may change their outlook towards Raphinha’s sale, due to the club’s economic needs.

Indeed, the Catalans may face pressure to sign new players in the January window, especially following a fresh long-term injury for Gavi.

Not to mention, the club are facing pressure to register Vitor Roque in the January window, in light of the club’s inefficiency in the attacking unit this season.

With all of this in mind, Barcelona may evaluate the potential sale of Raphinha, in an attempt to bring in fresh revenue that could go a long way in helping them sign new players in the market.
