Barcelona were able to sign off for the international break in a positive manner, thanks to a 2-1 victory over Deportivo Alaves.
As highlighted by Xavi in the post-match presser, it was far from an easy game for Barcelona. But thanks to the plaudits of Robert Lewandowski, the club were able to secure all three points.
However, despite scoring two goals, it was not the best of games for Lewandowski, who often got frustrated and on one occasion, he was extremely angry at one of his teammates.
Lewandowski’s gesture to Yamal
As reported by SPORT, Lewandowski got into an altercation with Lamine Yamal yesterday evening and showed his anger to the young Barcelona forward.
During the 72nd minute, with the game still tied 1-1, Lamine Yamal was in a position to pass to Lewandowski and create a decent goalscoring opportunity.
But instead, the youngster opted to go solo and his effort was eventually saved by Alaves goalkeeper Antonio Sivera.
Lewandowski was livid with Yamal’s decision and showed his frustration at the youngster with an angry gesture. Yamal, from a distance, did not answer the Pole but it seemed like he wanted to explain himself.
No handshake
That was not all. Yamal approached Lewandowski to shake hands after the incident.
But the Pole, with a serious face, opted not to shake hands with the Barcelona youngster. This particular incident was captured on camera.
However, the Pole himself is one of the finest professional strikers in Europe and it wouldn’t be surprising if the two had reconciled in the dressing room after the game.
