Victor Osimhen & 4 other players Chelsea have been tipped to sign in January

Victor Osimhen of SSC Napoli

Todd Boehly hasn’t shied away from splashing the cash since arriving at Chelsea last year and the Blues are already being linked with some high-profile targets ahead of January.

Chelsea currently find themselves 10th in the Premier League and they will have their sights set on a European spot come the end of the season.

We’ve taken a closer look at Chelsea and have found five players they have been tipped to sign ahead of the January transfer window.

Ivan Toney

It’s no secret that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are in need of some more firepower. While Nicolas Jackson has shown some flashes of quality, they are in need of some extra quality in the final third.

Toney would certainly be able to add that, although he won’t come cheap. Sky Sports have reported that Brentford value the striker at £100million and Arsenal are also interested along with Chelsea.

Football London has claimed that Chelsea are ‘strongly considering’ making a big money offer for Toney in January which will coincide with his suspension expiring.

The 27-year-old is a natural Premier League goalscorer and would make for a top signing in January. Although Pochettino’s side might have to pay over the odds to get him through the door.

Victor Osimhen

Now this would be a blockbuster deal. Chelsea have been heavily linked with the Napoli man for some time and they have been tipped to test the waters once again in January.

Transfer expert Ben Jacobs recently provided an update on Chelsea’s pursuit of Osimhen and claimed that the Premier League club could look to strike a pre-deal with the Napoli star in January.

“Chelsea like to jump ahead of the market, and if they know that Osimhen is not available in January, they may choose to move in January with a view to a move in the summer,” Jacobs told GiveMeSport.

“That’s one possibility if they feel it will lock them in an elite-level striker at a price that is still not through the roof. So, it’s intriguing for Chelsea.”

Antonio Nusa

Chelsea have turned towards younger players in the last couple of transfer windows and Nusa fits into that category. The 18-year-old forward has impressed at Club Brugge and the Blues are said to be among the interested parties.

According to Football Insider, Chelsea, Tottenham and Fulham are all interested in the teenage forward. Club Brugge reportedly value him at £30million and time will tell if a Premier League club does decide to make a move.

Assane Diao

Real Betis youngster Diao is another name on the watchlist. According to Estadio Deportivo, Chelsea have already discussed a potential move with Diao’s family as some preliminary talks have been held.

The winger has impressed in La Liga this season, scoring two goals in just 516 minutes of football. Diao has a release clause in his contract with Real Betis which is said to be worth £30million.

Leny Yoro

Lille have produced some top talents over the years and there’s currently plenty of hype surrounding Yoro. The 18-year-old defender has impressed in Ligue 1 of late and has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs.

Along with Chelsea, 90min have claimed that Liverpool and Manchester United have also been keeping tabs on the French youngster. As Trevoh Chalobah could depart in January, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Chelsea going after another defender.
