Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, also known as Wolves, is an English professional football club based in Wolverhampton, West Midlands. The club compete in the Premier League, the highest level of English football.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are one of the most successful clubs in English football history. They have won the Football League First Division three times, the FA Cup four times, the League Cup four times and the UEFA Europa League once.
The club was founded in 1877 and originally played at Molineux Street. Molineux became their home ground in 1889. Wolves played in the Football League First Division for the first time in 1888-89 and won the league title for the first time in 1908.
Wolves won the FA Cup for the first time in 1893 and went on to win the trophy again in 1900, 1921 and 1949. They won the League Cup for the first time in 1960 and went on to win it again in 1972, 1980 and 1982.
Wolves won their third league title in 1954 and were also promoted to the Premier League in 2009 and 2018.
