Barcelona not ruling out the sale of in-form 22-year-old loanee next summer – report

One of the many moves that Barcelona completed on the summer transfer deadline day saw Eric Garcia secure a loan move away to fellow La Liga side Girona.

Xavi was opposed to the idea, but sanctioned the departure anyway at the behest of the player, and safe to say, the move has worked a treat for the 22-year-old.

Indeed, Garcia has been in fine form for Girona this season, playing a key role in their ascent to the top of the La Liga standings. The Spaniard put in a fine display as his team beat Barça 4-2 this past Sunday.

Barcelona not ruling out Garcia’s sale in the summer

Given how Garcia has performed at Girona so far this season, there is a good chance that he might find a place in Xavi’s plans at Barcelona for the next campaign.

However, at the same time, the reigning La Liga champions are not ruling out the possibility of selling the Spanish international permanently next summer, reports SPORT.

What is clear is that Garcia will not be allowed to leave Barça on loan again. Either the centre-half will find a place in Xavi’s squad or will be offloaded permanently.

It is expected that the former Manchester City ace will attract offers in the summer having done well and increased his valuation during his stint at Girona.

So, there is a strong possibility that Barcelona could receive a hefty profit from his sale. At the same time, there exists a possibility that the Catalans cash in on a different centre-back from the squad and bring Garcia into the squad.

Nothing is certain at this point and the technical stuff will start making decisions once the January window is out of the way.
