Javier Tebas has recently taken to X to convey a series of arguments over FC Barcelona and their precarious economic position in this January transfer window.
The La Liga president laid out multiple points regarding Barcelona’s current standing in the eyes of the Financial Fair Play regulations.
Barcelona’s registration space reduced to €60 million
The major highlight of Tebas’ tweet saw him confirm that Barcelona’s registration space has been reduced to just €60 million following a series of untimely payments.
Tebas further confirmed that La Liga does accept the agreement between Barcelona and Libero regarding the sale of Barça Studios. But until Libero pays, the transaction will have no effect on Barça’s FFP margins.
Tebas does maintain that Barcelona have not breached any FFP regulations, but he does confirm that La Liga still does not recognise the contract of Gavi.

Gavi’s contract extension was registered, for all purposes, by a court order in January.
La Liga can’t deduct points: Tebas
Javier Tebas further pointed out that La Liga do not have the legal authorisation to remove points from Barcelona.
Furthermore, the Spaniard recalled that if Barcelona cannot generate registration capacity, the owners of the club will have to guarantee it through their ‘personal assets’.
In the case of Barcelona, the board of directors have guaranteed they will generate a capacity of €18.5 million. If the club fail to secure that guarantee, the directors will have to pay the guarantee from their own wealth.
Tebas pointed out the directors as ‘third party’ and not part of FCB. They have no commercial or labour relationship with the club.
