Barcelona have some major decisions to make in the summer transfer window coming up. One of the main topics on the agenda of manager Xavi Hernandez and sporting director Deco is the future of the players currently on loan.
As things stand, it appears that only Alex Valle and Julian Araujo will have a place in the squad for next season, with the others likely to be sold or loaned out again.
Destination Saudi Arabia for Ansu, Lenglet
Now, SPORT reports that two of the loanees from Barcelona could be moved off to Saudi Arabia.
Indeed, as per the report, Barcelona are exploring the possibility of selling both Ansu Fati and Clement Lenglet to clubs in Saudi in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Blaugrana’s priority is to sell players who will not have space and who would fit in that league in operations that, economically, can be very satisfactory for everyone.
Ansu is unlikely to have a future back at Barça after a disappointing loan stint at Brighton and Hove Albion, where he has struggled to make much of an impression under Roberto De Zerbi.
While the player himself hopes to make his way back to Barcelona, the club have different ideas for the academy product, with clubs in Saudi Arabia open to signing him.
As for Lenglet, the French defender has performed well in the Premier League with Aston Villa, playing his part in their push for a top four finish.
However, Unai Emery’s side are unlikely to retain the defender and with Xavi also not counting on him, a permanent departure is sought.
Lenglet had attracted interest from Saudi last summer as well and teams would be willing to sign him now too. But the decision will be up to the player and whether he is willing to accept a move to the Middle East.
