Barcelona refuse to rule out summer sale of La Masia defender for a good offer

There is no question that Barcelona are bracing themselves for a busy summer ahead, with the club ready to sanction the sale of multiple stars in order to bring in much-needed revenue.

A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered a comprehensive update on the future of each and every Barcelona first-team star, including Alejandro Balde.

The Spaniard, once regarded as the ideal long-term replacement for Jordi Alba, has endured a difficult season so far, which may impact his long-term future at Camp Nou.

Indeed, Balde has featured in 18 league matches this term, only 15 of which have been starts. His progress has been marred by an injury which has kept him out on the sidelines since early 2024.

Barcelona’s plan with Balde

Despite Balde’s struggles with injuries, Barcelona plan to retain the young left-back as part of the first-team next season.

Balde is expected to return from his injury during the preseason preparations. He should instantly become a part of the setup and continue to train under Xavi Hernandez.

Barcelona are aware of Balde’s talents, even though the Spaniard has struggled with increased competition and injuries this season.

Balde’s sale not ruled out

However, despite Barcelona’s confidence in Balde, the club have not entirely ruled out the sale of the young fullback.

As per the report, Balde is not among the ‘untouchables’ and the club would consider a sale if they receive a good offer for the defender in the coming summer.

Given his age and potential, Balde could indeed fetch quite the fortune, should any European giant make a move for the player at the end of the season.

As things stand, though, Barcelona is more than likely to continue with Balde, especially in the midst of uncertainty over Joao Cancelo’s future at the club.
