According to the Twitter account of Football Archive, artificial intelligence (AI) has predicted the future winners of the prestigious Ballon d’Or award up to the year 2038.
Notably, young talents from Barcelona are expected to secure the award three times in the coming years.
Among the future winners are Gavi, who is predicted to win in 2028, and Lamine Yamal, is expected to claim the honour in both 2036 and 2037.
This year, the AI forecasts that Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham will win the Ballon d’Or, followed by Kylian Mbappe in 2025.
Messi will continue to win
Remarkably, Lionel Messi, the legendary forward who previously played for Barcelona, is predicted to win the award again in 2026.
This would further extend Messi’s dominance in the competition, continuing his rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo, who, according to AI predictions, will not win the award again.
Looking ahead, Manchester City’s Phil Foden is expected to win the Ballon d’Or in 2027, followed by Barcelona’s Gavi in 2028. Erling Haaland, also from Manchester City, is predicted to win the top prize in 2029.
In 2030, the AI forecasts that Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior will take home the award, adding to his accolades after winning the Socrates Award for his humanitarian efforts last October.
A surprising prediction comes for 2031, with Brighton and Ireland’s Evan Ferguson expected to win, despite no player from the Irish Republic ever making the top three of the Ballon d’Or.
For 2032, Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz is projected to win the award, followed by Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala, who finished second behind Bellingham for the Kopa Trophy in 2023, in 2033.
Mbappe, who is set to leave PSG, is predicted to win his second Ballon d’Or in 2034, nine years after his first in 2025.
Furthermore, Yamal is projected to become one of the greats of his generation, winning back-to-back Ballon d’Or awards in 2036 and 2037.
Lastly, the AI predicts that Real Madrid’s Arda Guler, now 19 years old, will win the prestigious award in 2038.
