Earlier this week, on Catalunya Radio’s Barça Reservat program, claims were made that Barcelona captain Marc-Andre ter Stegen had complained to the club hierarchy about manager Xavi Hernandez.
It was suggested that the German international had spoken to club president Joan Laporta and a few other members of the hierarchy back in December and expressed concerns about the direction the team was heading.
Furthermore, Ter Stegen was alleged to have told Laporta & co. that some players in the team felt targeted by Xavi, especially after defeats.
Ter Stegen hits back
Now, taking to X, Ter Stegen has called the reports ‘false information’ and made it clear that he will not tolerate his name being used in creating a bad vibe around the Barcelona setup.
“The story published by ‘Barça Reservat’ directly attacks my personal values and I will not tolerate someone using my name to create bad vibes based on false information,” Ter Stegen wrote.
“If I ever want to say or report something, I will always be very direct with the person.”

This is not the first case of Barcelona players calling out media reports, with Frenkie de Jong having previously lashed out due to the constant leaks about his contract situation and future.
Pedri had also called out a well-known journalist earlier this year over comments about his mental state when he was recovering from injury.
Ter Stegen’s clarification emerges just a mere hour or so after Barcelona confirmed that Xavi Hernandez will no longer be the manager of the team after the season is over.
The 44-year-old club legend will depart after Sunday’s match against Sevilla away at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
