Former Barcelona midfielder and current coach of Como, Cesc Fabregas, has praised Xavi for his dedication to the youth academy, saying that his contributions to the team will be remembered for a long time.
In an interview, Fabregas spoke highly of Xavi, stating that he knows exactly what he is doing and saying, and is making significant contributions.
As a coach, Fabregas has achieved a major milestone by getting Como promoted. During the interview on the program El Larguero of Cadena SER, Fabregas shared his coaching philosophy, which revolves around “winning and adapting to the players he has.
“He also expressed admiration for Xavi and Pep Guardiola, calling the latter “the best coach in the world,” as quoted by SPORT.
Fabregas in awe of Xavi
The former World Cup winner explained that due to his coaching duties, he does not keep up much with the controversies and news surrounding Barcelona. However, when asked about Barcelona’s current coach, he had nothing but praise.
“I have a good relationship with him, he is a super culé. He was destined to be the Barça coach. He knows what he says and what he does.”
When discussing Barcelona’s season, Fabregas chose to focus on the positive aspects.
“The most important thing is how he is bringing out youngsters from the youth academy, in 2 or 3 years we will surely remember that Xavi brought out these players, they are doing a good job at the grassroots.
“Xavi’s former teammate at Barça and in the Spanish national team concluded that “Xavi is contributing a lot,” he added.
Lastly, when asked about the Premier League champions Manchester City and their manager, Pep Guardiola, he said,
“It is a great achievement since it is very difficult to always win as you have to compete against big clubs. My admiration for Pep, he is a tactical genius,” he admitted.
