- 5 managers have made the final shortlist for Manager of the Season
- Pep Guardiola & Jurgen Klopp have dominated the award for the past six years
- Liverpool boss looking to tie Arsene Wenger & Jose Mourinho with three wins
The Premier League have revealed the five-man shortlist for the 2023/24 Manager of the Season award.
Pep Guardiola has won this award in four of the last six seasons and the Manchester City manager is back in the running once again, with his side on the cusp of becoming the first team in Premier League history to win four consecutive league titles.
Guardiola's biggest rival has been Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who won the prize in the other two years and is vying to add a third in his final campaign on English shores, which would see him move level with Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho in the history books.
This year, however, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be among the favourites to take home the award for the first time in his career. The Gunners are still in the race for the league title, having scored the most goals and conceded the fewest. Not bad.
Unai Emery of Aston Villa has overseen a drastic transformation at Villa Park which, barring a minor miracle, will see them qualify for the Champions League. The likes of Ollie Watkins, Leon Bailey and Douglas Luiz have reached incredible new heights under the tutelage of the former Arsenal boss.
Finally, Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth also makes the cut. The Cherries attracted plenty of their criticism to move on from Gary O'Neil last summer but have not regretted that decision at all, sitting pretty in mid-table and laughing at early fears of relegation.
Fans can vote for their winner and the results of that poll will be mixed with the verdict of an expert panel to decide who takes home the prize this year.
