Barcelona will be on the lookout for financial injections this summer, particularly as they pursue a return to the 1:1 rule in La Liga, which will allow them to spend as much as the club earns.
Previously, the Catalans were treated with a financial windfall through Chadi Riad’s sale to Crystal Palace as Barcelona retained 50% of his rights.
In a similar vein, they could be benefitting from another former youngster’s sale this summer.
Ez Abde could also bring in some cash for Barcelona
Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo Abde, who left Barça last summer, is another possible sale that may be financially advantageous for Barcelona.
Barça agreed to sell him to Real Betis for €7.5 million, with the Catalans holding a 50% stake in any subsequent sales.
Now, a sale may take place in the upcoming months, as Jagoba Arrasate intends to sign Abde for his Mallorca side.
Arrasate, who recently relocated to Mallorca from Osasuna, believes Abde is essential to his next endeavour.
Abde is already familiar with the coach through his loan spell at Osasuna, during which he looked imposing, tallying two assists and six goals.
The coach is aware of his electrifying pace and formidable abilities in one-on-one scenarios. As such, Arraste is eager to reunite with Abde.
As of now, Real Betis are weighing all of Abde’s alternatives. Abde is one of the team’s highest-paid players, therefore, his departure would help with financial fair play, even though the coaching staff believes in his potential.
Abde departed Barcelona in the summer of 2023 in search of increased playing time, but under Manuel Pellegrini at Real Betis, he was only able to start 15 out of 36 games.
Consequently, he could find the stability he is looking for by moving to Mallorca, where Arrasate would welcome him with open arms.
A transfer would simultaneously aid Barcelona’s coffers.
