- Chelsea unveil new 'fire-inspired' home kit for coming season
- Fans largely unimpressed by new design
- Blues yet to find new front-of-shirt sponsor
Chelsea have unveiled their new home shirt for the 2024/25 season, with many fans less than impressed by the design.
Under the tagline 'We Burn Blue', Chelsea's new shirt draws inspiration from the fire inside Chelsea fans and the "burning passion unite the entire club behind a shared ambition to succeed on and off the pitch".
The traditional blue base is covered in what is described as a "melting pot pattern" - a series of swirls across the shirt designed to resemble the melting of gold and silver.
Orange accents are used on the cuffs and around the Chelsea crest and Nike emblem.
The release was met with a largely negative response from Chelsea fans. Many described it as "the worst kit ever", while others used the terms "tragic" and "terrible". Some supporters, however, were impressed with the new shirt.
Once again, Chelsea have released their new kit without a front-of-shirt sponsor after failing to find a fresh agreement before the manufacturing deadline.
The Blues' previous deal with Infinite Athlete was a one-year agreement as Chelsea had banked on getting back into the Champions League this season and being able to negotiate themselves a more lucrative sponsorship.
Infinite Athlete have moved to the sleeve of Chelsea's training kit but the search for a replacement on the front of their new shirts continues.
Reports have suggested Chelsea could once again look to strike a short-term deal in the hope of sealing a spot in the Champions League this year under new manager Enzo Maresca.
As was the case last season, fans can now buy the new home shirt without a sponsor. Should a front-of-shirt sponsorship be agreed, that version of the kit will also be available for purchase.
