Barcelona reach agreement to sign 18-year-old Ghanaian talent – Romano

Even though there are unlikely to be any reinforcements arriving for the first team on deadline day, FC Barcelona are set to strengthen their youth ranks with a late move.

Indeed, according to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have reached an agreement to sign Ghanaian teenage talent David Oduro for their academy.

Oduro, born in 2006, had a trial at Barcelona earlier this year and the club have been working to get his signing across the line for a while.

It briefly seemed like the Blaugrana might end up missing out on his capture owing to the interest he was attracting from some other clubs.

However, Barcelona have now managed to seal the deal for the 18-year-old, who will arrive from Accra Lions to reinforce the youth team.

Oduro, 18, has been likened to Bayern Munich speedster Alphonso Davies in some circles and was already a starter for his club at the age of 17.

In fact, he has already made 50 senior appearances for Accra Lions, even scoring a goal and assisting six more.

The young left-back also had trials at Chelsea earlier in the year but is now headed to Barcelona.

By doing so, he will become the first player ever to sign for Barça directly from Ghana.
