Chelsea 'exploring' swap deal with Man Utd for Jadon Sancho
- Man Utd open to Jadon Sancho exit prior to transfer deadline
- Chelsea join Juventus in race for winger
- Blues could offer Raheem Sterling or Ben Chilwell as part of deal
Chelsea have entered the race to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer deadline, a report has claimed.
Sancho was frozen out of the United fold last season after hitting back on social media at criticism from manager Erik ten Hag. He rejoined former club Borussia Dortmund on loan for the second half of the campaign and helped them reach the Champions League final, but they were unable to meet the financial demands needed to sign him permanently.
Though Sancho was welcomed back into the United first-team setup by Ten Hag this summer, the winger has not featured in the matchday squad for either of their Premier League games so far this season and speculation has ramped up again over his future at Old Trafford.
Juventus had discussed a move for Sancho earlier this week, and they are set to be rivalled by Chelsea in the race for the 24-year-old.
Sky Sports News report that Chelsea are 'exploring' a deal with United, who would prefer to sell Sancho but are mindful to loaning him out again.
The report also claims the Blues may include a player as a makeweight, with Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio adding that Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling could be on the table.
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has made no secret that Chilwell and Sterling are not in his plans, urging the duo to find new clubs before the transfer window shuts on Friday.
Though there is currently not much of a market for Chilwell, Sterling is the subject of interest from fellow Premier League sides Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. It is also unknown if Sterling would entertain a move to United having previously played for rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.
