England have confirmed their squad for September's UEFA Nations League fixtures.

Interim manager Lee Carsley, who replaced Gareth Southgate following Euro 2024, vowed to put his own stamp on the squad when he was announced and has made a handful of big calls ahead of next month's games.

Carsley has shown faith in the young players with whom he is familiar from his time as England Under-21 manager, handing maiden call-ups to Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, Newcastle United right-back Tino Livramento, Lille midfielder Angel Gomes and Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill, who has one senior cap, also features in an England squad for the first time since October 2023, while there is also a return for Manchester City's Rico Lewis.

Jack Grealish returns to the fold after being left out of Southgate's final squad for Euro 2024 this summer, despite seeing just 19 minutes of action for Manchester City this season, while Harry Maguire is also back.

There is no sign of Arsenal defender Ben White. The 26-year-old has not played for England since the 2022 World Cup and, despite the departure of former boss Southgate, remains out of the fray under Carsley.

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is injured alongside Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham, who is due to return from a calf injury after the international break.

Kieran Trippier, a regular feature in Southgate's squads over the years, confirmed his retirement from international duty hours before the squad announcement.

England head over to Dublin to face the Republic of Ireland on 7 September, before welcoming Finland to Wembley Stadium three days later on 10 September.

The Three Lions were relegated from the top tier of Nations League football, the 'A' bracket', during the 2022/23 campaign. Striving to re-establish themselves now in Nations League B, England have been drawn in Group 2 alongside the Republic of Ireland, Finland and Greece.
