Joshua Kimmich has admitted that a move away from Bayern Munich could still be on the cards this summer amid rising transfer speculation.

The versatile midfielder, who joined Bayern back in 2015, made 43 appearances for the Bundesliga giants last season, registering two goals and 10 assists mainly playing at right-back. It was a lowlight campaign for the Bavarians, finishing in third place while Bayer Leverkusen lifted their first-ever Bundesliga title.

Kimmich is currently contracted to Vincent Kompany's side until 2025, and his long-term future has not yet been decided. He could still pursue a move away this summer, after previously being linked with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Speaking while on pre-season tour with Bayern, Kimmich revealed that 'doors are open' for clubs wanting to steal his signature this summer.

"You can always talk to each other reasonably," he said. "All doors are open to everyone.

"Generally speaking, I feel really comfortable here. All my kids were born here, we built a house. Of course, last season wasn't so successful, that's not what Bayern and I want. Now I'm hungry, full of energy."

For Kimmich, the chance to remain at Bayern could be interesting, with new coach Kompany set to bring a new feel to the German side. He's admitted that he sees his future back in central midfield, a position which he could occupy under the former Burnley manager, after starting alongside Aleksandar Pavlovic in Bayern's pre-season victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Bayern kick off their Bundesliga season against Wolfsburg on 25 August as they commence their journey in trying to steal the title back from Leverkusen.
