- Ben White expected to be left out of Carsley's first England squad
- Arsenal defender refused call-up for Euro 2024
- England face Republic of Ireland and Finland in Nations League action
England interim manager Lee Carsley is not expected to include Arsenal defender Ben White in his first squad for September's international fixtures.
White has not played for England since he left the 2022 World Cup camp early and rejected the chance to return for Euro 2024.
Reports claimed White clashed with former assistant manager Steve Holland, who left his post alongside Gareth Southgate following the conclusion of this summer's tournament.
Despite the change in coaching staff, numerous reports state White's exile from the England squad will continue under Carsley.
The Guardian stress Carsley and White have not even spoken in the build-up to Thursday's squad announcement.
Further reports from The Mail state the ball is in White's court when it comes to his England future. The Arsenal defender has neither expressed a change in stance nor indicated an interest in adding to his four caps.
Carsley is looking to inject some new life into the England squad but may see his hands tied by a lack of options at full-back. White remains out the picture, while Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is injured and both Chelsea's Ben Chilwell and Kieran Trippier of Newcastle United have lost their place as starters at club level.
Instead, Manchester City youngster Rico Lewis and Newcastle's Tino Livramento could be added to the senior squad.
England face the Republic of Ireland in Dublin on 7 September before continuing their Nations League campaign by hosting Finland at Wembley Stadium three days later on 10 September.
