The goalkeeper went on to thank the opposition supporters as well, for displaying support in the stadium.
“I want to thank the Villarreal supporters for their respect displayed in the stadium, it means a lot to me. I feel positive and strong, now I focus on my recovery. Thank you!” he added.
Ter Stegen’s post comes after the news of his successful surgery and it appears the German is now fully focused on his recovery.
The goalkeeper had pushed for surgery from day one and did not want to waste even a day on his recovery process. He is, in fact, hopeful of appearing again for Barcelona this season, despite a grim outlook on his injury.
Barcelona, meanwhile, are actively looking at alternatives in the market, with Wojciech Szczesny emerging as a potential option.
