Luis Campos, who serves as Paris Saint-Germain’s presidential sports advisor, has openly expressed his admiration for Barcelona’s rising star, Lamine Yamal.
During a recent football congress, Campos described Yamal as an exceptional talent, highlighting how impressive it is to watch him play.
His remarks came as part of the ongoing Thinking Football Summit, organised by the Portuguese League, which has continued to surprise those connected to Barcelona.
Earlier in the event, Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, revealed that Joan Laporta had attempted, though unsuccessfully, to sign Campos as the club’s sporting director.
Only a few hours later, Campos himself further praised Barcelona, particularly turning his attention to Lamine Yamal.
Luis Campos’ thoughts on Lamine Yamal
During his conversation with the media at the football summit, Campos was naturally asked about various topics, including PSG’s potential interest in Yamal. Unsurprisingly, his response was full of admiration for the young forward.
“It’s clear that I like Lamine Yamal, as well as other players with great quality,” he stated as quoted by SPORT.
“You can’t deny Yamal’s brilliance as a footballer. Watching him perform at such a high level is nothing short of incredible.”
While his words showed strong admiration for Yamal, Campos was quick to clarify that PSG are not actively pursuing the Barcelona forward. He took the opportunity to clear up any possible misunderstandings, saying,
“If we had signed every player the media links with PSG, we would have an amazing roster of stars. But in reality, we are very happy with the squad we currently have.”
In essence, Campos’ comments reflect the growing attention Lamine Yamal is receiving from top football figures across Europe.
While PSG may admire the young Barcelona talent, it appears their current focus remains on developing their own squad. Nonetheless, Yamal’s star power continues to captivate those who witness his exceptional abilities on the field.
