Barcelona midfield prodigy not injured, only dealing with minor discomfort

Last night brought concerning news for Barcelona as reports emerged that midfield sensation Gavi had sustained an injury during Spain’s training session.

Given that the Catalan giants have already been hit with several injuries, another casualty was the last thing that the club needed ahead of a crucial run of matches after the international break.

Gavi’s condition not serious

SPORT’s Jordi Gil has now brought an update on the matter and it comes as a relief for Barcelona fans.

As per the report, Gavi’s withdrawal from training on Tuesday was only done as a precaution as he suffered some minor discomfort as a result of the little off-time he got after Barça’s weekend clash against Granada.

As such, the 19-year-old did not participate in training on Monday with La Roja at all. He did train with the national team yesterday apart from missing the final few workouts, which led to the speculations of injuries.

But, there is no injury and he is only dealing with some discomforts, with the report stating that Gavi will be available for Spain’s upcoming game against Scotland on Thursday night.

Relief for Barcelona

The development comes as a major relief considering that Barcelona are already without two midfielders in Pedri and Frenkie de Jong.

Pedri is expected to be back after the international break but given his track record with injuries, Xavi will likely be careful with his return. As for De Jong, the Dutchman is expected to be out until early November.

Given the situation, Gavi getting injured would have been a big blow, but thankfully, that does not seem to be the case. both the Carabao Cup and the Premier League are prestigious competitions in English football, the prize money on offer for winning each varies significantly.
