- Gyokeres expected to leave Sporting CP in 2025
- Striker tipped to follow manager Ruben Amorim to Man Utd
- Sweden international refused to close door to Old Trafford transfer
Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres has refused to close the door to a transfer to Manchester United in 2025.
The 26-year-old was expected to leave Sporting next year even before manager Ruben Amorim departed for United, with a whole host of Premier League sides understood to be considering bids for the in-form striker.
Amorim's presence at United has seen the Red Devils heavily linked with a move for Gyokeres, who has never shied away from admitting his admiration for the manager, although reports have suggested the Sweden international is not particularly interested in making the move to Old Trafford.
Gyokeres, however, refused to rule out joining United, although he insisted he is not interested in a transfer before the end of the current season.
Asked about following Amorim to United, he told Fotbollskanalen: "He probably has some strikers there already, so we'll see.
"It's not something I think about. Of course, I want to play out the season at Sporting and I enjoy myself there, so there is no stress for me to make a move in the future. We'll see when the time comes."
Gyokeres went on to deny suggestions he has already spoken to Amorim about a potential reunion at United.
"No," he said. "It's fun but not something I attach any importance to because it's talk and nothing concrete.
"It is very sad that he is leaving, but of course we understand his decision. He has obviously meant a lot considering that he gave me that chance and that he made me develop so much."
