- Arsenal reach Carabao Cup semi-finals after beating Crystal Palace
- Gunners initially fell behind at the Emirates Stadium
- Gabriel Jesus and hat-trick turned the last eight tie around
Arsenal came from behind in style against Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.
Palace took a surprise early lead to pile further misery on a struggling Gunners when Jean-Philippe Mateta capitalised on a Jakub Kiwior mistake and then outmuscled the defender to finish.
Arsenal were distinctly disappointing in the first half but looked a different team after the interval, thanks in no small part to the introduction of Martin Odegaard and William Saliba.
They got back level when Gabriel Jesus scored his first Emirates Stadium goal since last December, before the same player then remarkably netted a second and a third.
Former Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah pulled one back for Palace to potentially set up a grandstand finish, but Mikel Arteta's side held on to claim victory.
