- Liverpool failed with move for Zubimendi during the summer
- Real Sociedad midfielder declined chance to leave current club
- Arsenal & Man City register interest in Spain international
Martin Zubimendi is reported to be more willing to leave Real Sociedad in 2025 amid interest in his services from Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Liverpool were expected to sign Zubimendi last summer but were ultimately rejected by the Spain international, who decided he was not prepared to leave his current club at that time.
Since then, Arsenal and Manchester City have joined the list of interested parties, and it seems as though a move for Zubimendi could be a possibility as The Athletic state the 25-year-old is not set on staying at Sociedad anymore.
Being able to prepare for a departure, while also giving Sociedad plenty of time to brace themselves for a sale, is said to have left Zubimendi feeling open to a departure in 2025.
A summer move is more likely than any transfer in January, with Zubimendi recently warning suitors that he was not "wasting energy" thinking about the speculation heading into the winter window.
Sociedad are expected to be open to a sale for the right price, with club president Jokin Aperribay keen to show other potential signings that they are a club who can be trusted as a stepping stone to the elite sides.
Zubimendi's terms are understood to include a release clause of €60m (£49.7m) which any interested side may have to pay as the Spain international remains under contract until 2027.
