Rodri may be out of action for Manchester City due to his ongoing ACL injury, but he's still keeping an eye out for new talent to bring to the Etihad.

The Ballon d'Or winner has not featured for his side since their 2-2 draw with Arsenal back in September. A matter of weeks after returning from the hamstring issue he sustained during Spain's triumphant Euro 2024 campaign, Rodri picked up a serious knee injury.

The reigning Premier League champions have struggled in the absence of their star midfielder, failing to win their last four games and slipping down into fifth place in the league standings. Rodri, whilst not able to help his team on the pitch, has named the player he would sign to return City to winning ways.

"Right now, I would take him," the midfielder told Diario AS when asked about Athletic Club's Nico Williams. "To [Manchester] City, without a doubt, so that he feels the cold of Manchester, well it's similar to Bilbao."

Rodri and Williams joined the likes of Lamine Yamal and Luis de la Fuente at a gala celebrating the best Spanish athletes across the world of sport. After his impressive performances on the international stage in Germany, Williams has been linked with a move to almost every top European side - with Barcelona the most likely to steal his signature in the summer.

The winger did not leave the Basque Country, however, but still remains a hot topic in the transfer window heading into January. He's starred in 18 games this season across La Liga and the Europa League, helping his side secure fourth place in the league.

A move to Manchester City could extend Williams' growing trophy cabinet.
